Job Description:
Full job descriptionAn independent specialist school is seeking a Tutor / Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for 2–3 pupils with additional needs, helping them access tailored learning in a structured environment.
Full training is provided, including Autism support and ABA-based learning methods. This is a great opportunity for someone from a care, education, or support background looking to develop their career in specialist education.


Age group: Working with children and young people (approximately 5–19 years)


We welcome applicants from both education and care backgrounds. Full training is provided.


Training & Progression
*Full training provided across all areas of the role
*6-month probation period
*Ongoing development in SEN, Autism, and ABA approaches


Additional Information
*Working with 1:1 support for 2–3 pupils


We are open to applicants with experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, SEN Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant, Nursery Assistant, Tutor, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Key Worker, Carer, SEND Teaching Assistant, Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Worker, Early Years Assistant, or similar role.

*Experience working with children or young people, or transferable experience from care or education settings
*Interest in child development and special educational needs (SEN)
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
*Basic IT skills for recording and tracking pupil progress
*Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
*A proactive and supportive approach to working as part of a team


Shift:
*Monday to Friday: 8.45am - 5.00pm
*4:30 finish on Friday
