Contract: Permanent, full time
MLC Partners are working exclusively with The Green Party to recruit an experienced and passionate Safeguarding Manager to take ownership of safeguarding across a complex and values-driven national organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic safeguarding leadership with hands-on case management. As the organisation’s designated safeguarding lead, you will play a critical role in developing and embedding safeguarding frameworks, managing safeguarding concerns, advising stakeholders, and ensuring best practice is consistently applied across the organisation.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Governance and People, you will be responsible for reviewing and developing safeguarding policies, managing live safeguarding cases, delivering training, and providing assurance reporting to senior leaders.
You will act as the organisation’s subject matter expert on safeguarding, ensuring robust procedures are in place to protect both children and adults while fostering a culture where safeguarding is understood, embedded and prioritised.
Key Responsibilities
*Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the organisation.
*Manage and assess safeguarding concerns, making informed and defensible decisions.
*Review, develop and implement safeguarding policies, procedures and frameworks.
*Oversee safeguarding referrals and liaison with statutory agencies where required.
*Provide expert safeguarding advice to staff, volunteers, elected representatives and senior stakeholders.
*Design and deliver safeguarding training and awareness programmes.
*Produce safeguarding reports, assurance updates and performance information for senior leadership.
*Ensure safeguarding records, reporting processes and data handling practices meet required standards.
*Drive continuous improvement through learning, policy development and best practice implementation.
About You
We’re looking for a safeguarding professional who brings:
*Significant experience managing safeguarding cases involving children and/or adults.
*Recent experience within a charity, membership, voluntary sector or similarly complex organisation.
*Proven experience developing and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.
*Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and referral pathways.
*Experience delivering safeguarding training to diverse audiences.
*Excellent judgement and the ability to make complex safeguarding decisions confidently.
*Strong communication, organisational and reporting skills.
*The ability to balance operational casework with strategic development responsibilities.
Experience working with volunteers, elected representatives or membership-based organisations would be advantageous.
