We’re looking for a caring and dedicated Speech & Language SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist classroom in Benwell this September.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Global Developmental Delay, helping them develop communication skills, confidence, and independence in a nurturing learning environment.
Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff, you’ll play a key role in helping pupils access learning and celebrate every achievement, big or small.
Your role will include:*Supporting speech, language, and communication development
*Working closely with pupils with ASC and Global Developmental Delay
*Delivering targeted communication and learning interventions
*Encouraging positive social interactions and engagement
*Creating a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
*Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to support pupil progress
We’re looking for someone who:*Holds Speech & Language qualifications or relevant experience
*Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASC
*Is patient, compassionate, and adaptable
*Communicates effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families
*Is passionate about helping every child succeed
