Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking a Solicitor to join its specialist Asbestos and Occupational Disease team, based in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected practice focused on securing justice for individuals affected by life-changing industrial diseases.
You will be working within a collaborative, multi-office team, supporting clients diagnosed with a wide range of asbestos-related and non-asbestos respiratory conditions, including mesothelioma, lung cancer, asbestosis, pleural thickening, occupational asthma and silicosis. The role combines responsibility for your own caseload with the opportunity to support senior lawyers on complex, high-value claims.
This position offers meaningful, client-focused work where you will play a key role in guiding individuals and families through challenging circumstances while delivering high-quality legal outcomes.
Candidate Profile / Experience Needed
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
*1–5 years’ PQE, with experience in asbestos litigation or occupational disease work from a claimant or defendant background
*Confidence managing a litigated caseload independently
*Experience supporting senior colleagues on complex and high-value matters
*A strong client-focused approach, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong drafting and legal research abilities
*A genuine interest in this area of law and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients
*An interest in business development and building relationships with clients, referrers and stakeholders
