Job Description:
Full job descriptionAdele Carr is partnering with an exciting business based in Stafford with reference to an interim Business Controller requirement.
The company in question is growing organically and via acquisition. They’re going through a period of exciting change and the role is to cover someone from their current finance team who is moving to an ERP/Project.
Key Information:
This role will take over management accounting and reporting for two entities from existing staff members and support on the migration of those entities as part of an ERP migration. They will support the business until it moves into a steady state and the responsibilities can be transferred across into a new role long term.
Duties:
*Completion of monthly management accounts for a trading entity with two active sites to a high standard under time pressure. Full ownership of P&L, Balance Sheet and site-level reporting, including detailed variance analysis
*Controlling and management accounts preparation of the head office entity
*Ownership of balance sheet (reconciliations, accruals/prepayments)
*Monthly data analysis
*Day to day reporting
*Experience of ERP implementation (as user), including hands on involvement in testing, data cleansing and issue resolution.
*System experience to help optimise the new system and drive efficiency in reporting and accounting
The Person:
* Proven experience operating at Financial Controller level (or equivalent)
* Strong track record preparing accounts in a fast paced, change or transformational environments
* Experience in operational / site-based businesses
* Understanding of cost drivers and performance metrics in operational environments
* Strong on cash management and working capital control
* Experience of multi-entity or group reporting environments
* Strong grounding in financial controls, audit readiness and balance sheet control
* Experience with fixed assets / capex heavy environments (desirable)
* Strong Excel skills (essential)
