As part of its ongoing commitment to operational excellence, the organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Funding Assurance Officer to join its Funding Assurance team on a fixed-term basis. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and highly professional environment, supporting the effective management and compliance of externally funded projects throughout their lifecycle.

Your Roles & Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to:
*Supporting the full lifecycle management of externally funded projects and grant awards
*Ensuring grants are administered in accordance with funder requirements, internal policies and governance frameworks
*Preparing and reviewing financial reports for external funding bodies and stakeholders
*Supporting audit activities and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines
*Working closely with project leaders, operational teams and key stakeholders to provide funding assurance guidance and support
*Monitoring live grants to ensure compliance with funding conditions and contractual obligations
*Analysing financial and project data to identify anomalies, risks and areas requiring corrective action
*Interpreting funding regulations, policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance
*Supporting the coordination and integration of funding assurance activities across multiple projects
*Assisting with the development and continuous improvement of reporting processes and controls
*Providing advice and guidance to colleagues regarding grant management and funding compliance matters
*Maintaining accurate records and documentation across internal systems and reporting platforms
What You Will Need to Apply:
The ideal candidate will possess previous experience within grant administration, project finance, research administration, funding assurance or a similar compliance-focused environment. Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail will be essential.
Candidates should be comfortable working with financial data, producing reports and interpreting policies, procedures and funding regulations. Experience identifying discrepancies, investigating issues and implementing appropriate solutions will be highly advantageous.
Strong organisational skills are required, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to strict reporting and audit deadlines. Applicants should also possess excellent communication skills and be confident building effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience within a research, higher education, scientific, public sector or grant-funded environment would be beneficial. Exposure to UKRI, European funding frameworks or external audit processes would also be advantageous, although not essential.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly organised and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
