Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and early childhood education to children in our nursery setting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. The ideal applicant will have experience working with children, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to supporting children’s development and well-being.
Duties
*Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards.
*Supervise and support children’s daily routines, including play, meal times, rest periods, and outdoor activities.
*Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health and safety regulations.
*Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to senior staff or parents as appropriate.
*Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
*Manage classroom resources efficiently, ensuring a clean and organised environment conducive to learning.
*Support the induction and mentoring of new staff or interns as required.
*Contribute to the ongoing development of nursery policies and procedures in collaboration with management.
Experience
*Previous experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting is essential.
*A background in Montessori, Forest School or similar approaches is desirable
*Demonstrable management or leadership skills within a childcare environment are highly desirable.
*Proven ability to work effectively with children of various ages, demonstrating patience, creativity, and enthusiasm.
*Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members.
*Experience in childcare or nursery management roles is advantageous.
*Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving travel between multiple nursery sites or community engagement activities.
