Location: Liverpool
Working model: Hybrid - 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
As a Principal Consultant, you’ll lead on winning new business across the public sector - focusing on local authorities and social care services.
This is a pure business development role where you’ll take ownership of building a pipeline, opening doors, and securing new partnerships. You’ll engage senior stakeholders, understand their workforce challenges, and position solutions that deliver real impact.
This is not a traditional recruitment role. While sector knowledge will come, your success will be driven by your ability to identify opportunities, generate conversations, and convert them into long-term business.
What you’ll be doing*Driving new client acquisition across local authorities and public sector organisations
*Building and managing a targeted pipeline of prospects using CRM and market insight
*Cold calling, outreach, and networking to create opportunities and meetings
*Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and decision makers
*Leading consultative sales conversations to understand client challenges and position solutions
*Working with internal specialists to develop and deliver tailored proposals
*Converting opportunities into new business wins and long-term partnerships

*Background in consultative, solutions-based sales
*Exposure to recruitment, consultancy, or managed services
