£47,000 – £50,000 + DOE
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join a well-regarded and growing accountancy practice based in Tunbridge Wells
This role is ideally suited to a qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) who enjoys working closely with clients, leading teams, and delivering high-quality accounting and tax services.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted advisor across a range of accounting and tax matters. Alongside this, you will play a key role in overseeing workflow, maintaining standards, and supporting the development of the wider team.
Key duties will include:
*Managing a varied client portfolio and acting as the main point of contact
*Leading client meetings and providing practical, tailored advice
*Reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
*Planning and allocating work to ensure deadlines and priorities are met
*Maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and presentation across all deliverables
*Supporting year-end compliance work, including P11Ds and other reporting requirements
*Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency
*Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
*Coaching and mentoring junior team members
*Ensuring all work is completed in line with professional and regulatory standards
About You
You will be a confident and commercially aware individual with experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
You will ideally:
*Be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
*Have experience managing a portfolio of clients
*Possess strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
*Be confident reviewing work and maintaining compliance standards
*Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Be comfortable using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or similar
*Have experience supporting or supervising junior staff (advantageous)
