Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are currently working with a South West based Local Authority who are looking for an Emergency Management Officer to join their Emergency Management Unit on an interim basis.
The Emergency Management Officer will play a key role in supporting the development, implementation and review of emergency planning, business continuity and civil contingency arrangements across the Council, ensuring robust preparedness and coordinated multi-agency response arrangements are in place to protect residents and critical services.

Duration: 12 Months (Interim)
Start date: ASAP
Rate: £18.85 - £24.56
Site presence: Hybrid working following training and experience
Role Details
*Support the development, implementation and ongoing review of policies, plans and procedures in line with the Civil Contingencies Act and associated statutory requirements
*Lead on specific emergency planning and resilience workstreams, with rotation across priority areas as required
*Develop and maintain robust emergency response plans and procedures to support coordinated internal and external incident response
*Assist in the design and delivery of training, workshops and exercises to strengthen organisational preparedness and resilience
*Work closely with internal Council services, emergency services, voluntary sector partners and wider stakeholders including the Local Resilience Forum
*Support incident response activity both during and out of office hours, including participation in the emergency on-call rota
Requirements
*Strong understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act and wider emergency planning/resilience frameworks
• Knowledge of local government structures and multi-agency partnership working
• Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders or partner agencies
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
