Full job descriptionAbout the RoleA welcoming secondary school in Braintree is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time, permanent position, working closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of abilities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities*Provide in-class support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
*Work 1:1 and with small groups, including students with SEN
*Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
*Support students with additional learning needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
*Help manage behaviour positively and effectively
*Encourage student independence and confidence
*Support with preparation of resources and classroom organisation
The Ideal Candidate Will Have*Previous experience working with young people (school-based or similar)
*A strong interest in education and supporting student development
*A patient, proactive, and flexible approach
*Good communication and relationship-building skills
*An understanding of safeguarding and child protection
*Experience supporting SEN students (desirable but not essential)
