Location: Shrewsbury
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Contract: Temporary (Approx. 6 months)
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to support our finance function on a temporary basis for approximately 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, traditional accounts role and can confidently manage day-to-day financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing Accounts Payable – processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and preparing payments
*Handling Accounts Receivable – raising invoices, chasing outstanding payments, and allocating receipts
*Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
*Bank reconciliations
*Assisting with month-end tasks
*Supporting general bookkeeping duties as required
*Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers/customers
About You
*Proven experience in an accounts assistant or bookkeeping role
*Strong working knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes
*Comfortable working in a traditional, hands-on accounts environment
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Able to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
*Confident communicator with a professional approach
*Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
