Reporting to: Office Manager / Operations Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organised Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our business in Brighton. This role is essential in creating a positive and welcoming experience for visitors, clients, and staff, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of front-of-house operations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a confident telephone manner, and a proactive approach to administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Front-of-House Duties
*Greet visitors and clients in a professional and welcoming manner
*Manage the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable at all times
*Handle incoming calls, transferring them to the appropriate departments
Administration & Support
*Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
*Maintain visitor logs and security procedures
*Provide general administrative support to the wider team
Scheduling & Coordination
*Book meeting rooms and manage office calendars
*Coordinate refreshments and setup for meetings where required
*Assist with internal events or office activities
Communication
*Act as a key point of contact for enquiries via phone, email, and in person
*Ensure messages are accurately recorded and passed on promptly
*Liaise with internal teams and external visitors
Office Support
*Monitor office supplies and place orders when needed
*Support the Office Manager with general day-to-day operations
*Assist with onboarding of new starters (e.g. access passes, desk setup)
Skills & Experience
Essential
*Previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house, or customer-facing role
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
*Professional and friendly manner
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable
*Experience in a corporate or office environment
*Familiarity with switchboard or phone systems
*Experience supporting administrative or office management tasks
