Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
Contract: Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for a Surface Preparation Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing business based in Reading.
This is a hands-on role preparing metal components prior to the powder coating process. The successful candidate will be responsible for sanding, cleaning and preparing products to a high standard before they move through the next stage of production.
The working environment can become very warm during peak periods, with temperatures reaching up to 35°C.
Key Responsibilities
*Sanding and preparing metal components ready for powder coating
*Removing surface imperfections and defects
*Cleaning and degreasing components prior to processing
*Masking products where required
*Carrying out visual quality inspections
*Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
*Maintaining a clean and organised work area
*Adhering to all health and safety procedures
Requirements
*Previous experience within manufacturing, production, engineering, assembly or preparation work would be advantageous
*Experience using sanding equipment, grinders or hand tools is desirable
*Good attention to detail and quality standards
*Physically fit and comfortable working in a warm environment
*Full UK driving licence and own transport essential
*Ability to successfully pass a DBS check
*Reliable, punctual and hardworking
