Full job descriptionJob PurposeTo safely and efficiently receive, store, handle, and dispatch freight within a busy freight forwarding warehouse. The role involves operating forklift trucks, preparing shipments, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring all cargo is handled in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and health and safety regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations*Receive inbound freight from suppliers, carriers, and customers.
*Check deliveries against shipping documentation.
*Inspect freight for damage and report discrepancies.
*Accurately label, sort, and store cargo.
*Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch.
*Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
*Build and wrap pallets to transport standards.
*Maintain clean and organised warehouse areas.
*Carry out regular stock checks and inventory counts.
Forklift Operations*Operate Counterbalance and/or Reach Forklift Trucks safely.
*Load and unload trailers, containers, and vehicles.
*Move freight throughout the warehouse.
*Stack pallets safely within designated storage locations.
*Conduct daily forklift safety inspections.
*Report vehicle defects immediately.
*Follow safe operating procedures at all times.
