Hybrid Working (3 Days Office / 2 Days Home) | Pod Structure | Clear Route to Adviser | High-Net-Worth Client Exposure
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Paraplanner to join a highly regarded and growing financial planning business based in the City of London.
The firm operates a collaborative pod structure, with each team consisting of two Financial Advisers supported by a team of 6–7 technical and administrative staff. The London office is based in modern, high-quality premises near Bank, with an additional established office in Southampton employing a further 15–20 staff.
The business has built a strong reputation for its positive culture, supportive working environment and genuine commitment to developing its people. As the firm continues to grow steadily, they are now looking to appoint an ambitious Paraplanner who is keen to progress into a Financial Adviser role in the near future.
The Opportunity
This is a highly technical Paraplanning position with a strong client-facing element, offering direct exposure to clients and advisers within a structured pod environment.
You will work closely with experienced Financial Advisers, supporting the delivery of holistic financial planning advice to a well-established client base, ranging from £500k–£1m in assets under management, with some ultra-high-net-worth clients holding £10m–£20m+.
A key feature of this role is the opportunity to present cashflow modelling directly to clients and gradually build the skills and experience required to transition into an Adviser position, typically within a 3-year timeframe.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing and presenting cashflow modelling directly to clients
• Supporting Financial Advisers within a structured pod environment
• Providing technical paraplanning support across pensions, investments, tax and retirement planning
• Preparing suitability reports and financial planning recommendations
• Attending client meetings alongside advisers and contributing to discussions
• Conducting detailed product and fund research to support recommendations
• Liaising with providers and internal teams to ensure smooth case progression
• Supporting the delivery of high-quality financial planning outcomes for HNW and UHNW clients
• Assisting with ongoing client servicing and annual reviews
• Working towards progression into a Financial Adviser role within approximately 3 years
Requirements
• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (essential)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Paraplanning role within an IFA or Wealth Management firm
• Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and financial planning
• Experience in client-facing or meeting attendance roles
• Confidence in presenting or working with cashflow modelling (or willingness to develop this)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational ability
• Ambition to progress into a Financial Adviser role
• Ability to work effectively within a team-based, collaborative structure
What’s on Offer
• Salary £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
• Bonus scheme
• Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days home)
• Modern offices near Bank in the City of London
• Clear and structured progression route into a Financial Adviser role (circa 3 years)
• Exposure to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients
• Strong collaborative pod structure (2 advisers + dedicated support teams)
• Positive, supportive and people-focused culture
• Established and growing business with long-term stability
• Opportunity to join a firm that genuinely invests in career development
Interview Process
• Initial Teams interview
• Face-to-face interview
• Case study assessment
• Final Teams meeting (if required)
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Paraplanner who is looking for more than a back-office technical role.
With genuine client exposure, cashflow presentation responsibilities and a clearly defined pathway into financial advice, this role offers a structured and supported transition into becoming a Financial Adviser within a high-quality, growing business.
