Full job description This role sits in the Portfolio Management team of a successful Private Markets Investment house that invests across multiple asset classes and investment structures.
The Opportunity:
This role is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to build a career in Private Markets. The role encompasses investment decision making, asset allocation and presentation to investment committee. It will develop technical, modelling and data skills. There will also be an element of sales, IR and Client relationship management. The team sits at the centre of the business with exposure to senior professionals across disciplines.
Key responsibilities:
*Portfolio construction and allocation amongst SMAs and commingled funds. Support the processes required to allocate investments amongst funds, ensuring this is achieved fairly, equitably and in line with individual portfolio strategies.
*Support the development of liquidity strategies for funds to ensure that funds operate within acceptable risk limits whilst also maximising returns. Monitor the enactment of these strategies once in place.
*Support the collation and analysis of underlying investment fund and asset data as part of the team’s wider investment monitoring objectives. Assist in using this data to generate client and portfolio management update materials.
*Collaborate with IR on responding to client queries or diligence requests that relate to Investment Team activities.
*Curate content for portfolio review materials for client meetings. Support the creation of portfolio manager reporting at the fund and underlying investment level. Respond to portfolio manager queries as needed.
*Support maintenance of fund financial models for all fund types and structures, including traditional commitment-based structures, open and closed-ended evergreen funds. Models are maintained through the life of a fund to support active portfolio management and fund management decisions.
*Contribute to working group to refine the allocation policy, ensuring that the policy evolves to maximise client outcomes.
*Contribute to roll-out of best in class reporting for SMA clients in line with listed and commingled products.
Skills and experience:
*Candidates from a range of backgrounds will be considered. We are particularly interested in candidates from Investment Consulting, and Multi Asset Portfolio Management with some exposure to Private Markets
Ideally we would like to see:
*Prior experience with Excel Modelling, eFront, Power BI and investment CRM platforms
*Strong process mindset with previous involvement in new process development and design. Ability to identify opportunities for process development towards improving efficiency and control.
*Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel. VBA / Python knowledge would be beneficial.
*Ability to manage own workload and prioritise delivery.
*Excellent attention to detail.
