Job Description:
Full job descriptionI’m looking to recruit a Electrical Wirer / Panel Wirer to join a well-established manufacturing business specialising in the design and build of electrical control systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual with experience in panel wiring, electrical assembly, and control systems to become part of a growing and supportive team.
The Responsibilities
*Build and wire electrical control panels, switchgear, and associated equipment from engineering drawings and schematics.
*Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and bill of materials.
*Assemble electrical components including relays, contactors, PLCs, terminal blocks, and circuit protection devices.
*Carry out point-to-point wiring and cable termination to a high standard.
*Install trunking, DIN rails, cable containment, and panel components.
*Perform electrical testing, continuity checks, and fault-finding activities.
*Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality standards and electrical regulations.
*Support panel modifications, upgrades, and prototype builds where required.
*Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
*Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines.
The Requirements
*Previous experience as an Electrical Wirer, Panel Wirer, Control Panel Builder, or similar role.
*Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
*Experience wiring industrial control panels and electrical assemblies.
*Knowledge of electrical components and control systems.
*Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
*Experience using hand tools, crimping tools, and electrical testing equipment.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
Desirable Skills
*Relevant electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent).
*Experience with PLC control systems and industrial automation equipment.
*Understanding of electrical standards and regulations.
*Previous experience within manufacturing, automation, machinery, or control panel environments.
