Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated and compassionate SEMH Support Workers to join schools across Dorset, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a truly rewarding opportunity to help students overcome barriers, build resilience, and succeed both in and out of the classroom.
The Role
As an SEMH Support Worker, you will:
*Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
*Help students manage emotions, behaviour, anxiety, and confidence
*Create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment
*Support individual behaviour and wellbeing plans
*Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and teachers
*Encourage positive routines, engagement, and resilience
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
*Experienced in SEMH, youth work, mental health support, or behaviour support
*Calm, patient, and skilled in de-escalation
*A strong communicator and relationship builder
*Resilient, proactive, and genuinely passionate about helping young people
*Holds a DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
