Location: Islington, North London
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (Permanent Opportunity Available)
Remedy Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Islington to recruit a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible.
This unique school supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and has a strong emphasis on the performing arts, creating a creative, nurturing, and engaging environment where young people are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.
The RoleAs a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students build confidence and achieve positive outcomes. You will:
*Teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4
*Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
*Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH needs
*Create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
*Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
*Monitor, assess, and track student progress effectively
*Foster positive relationships that encourage student engagement and achievement
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a teacher who is passionate about making a difference and has:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
*Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
*Previous experience working with SEMH students or young people with additional needs
*Strong behaviour management skills and a consistent approach to classroom practice
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
*A patient, adaptable, and resilient attitude
