I am currently working with a highly regarded law firm that is looking to expand its housing disrepair team with the appointment of an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong background in housing disrepair claims to manage a varied caseload while contributing to the continued success and growth of the department.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
*Manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims from instruction to conclusion.
*Advise clients on housing conditions, landlord obligations, and available remedies.
*Draft legal documents including letters of claim, witness statements, schedules of works, and court pleadings.
*Conduct negotiations with landlords, local authorities, housing associations, and their representatives.
*Instruct and liaise with surveyors, experts, and counsel.
*Attend court hearings and case management conferences where required.
*Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, procedural rules, and regulatory requirements.
*Maintain accurate case records using the firm’s case management systems.
*Meet individual and departmental performance targets.
About you
*Qualified Solicitor with experience in housing disrepair.
*Strong knowledge of housing law and civil litigation procedures.
*Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
*Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
*Strong client care and communication skills.
*Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Desirable
*Experience handling claimant housing disrepair claims.
*Experience working under Legal Aid or CFA arrangements.
