Full job descriptionTeaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in the OL6 area that are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and enthusiastic SEND Specialist Support Assistant to join their SEND Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including autism, speech and language needs, social communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities*Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND within our specialist SEND Hub and mainstream classrooms.
*Deliver structured interventions and personalised learning activities under the guidance of the SENDCo and teaching staff.
*Support pupils to develop social, emotional, communication, and independence skills.
*Implement behaviour support strategies consistently and effectively.
*Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
*Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to review meetings as required.
*Promote an inclusive environment where all pupils feel safe, valued, and supported.
The Successful Candidate Will Have*Experience working with children with SEND, preferably within a primary school setting.
*A strong understanding of a range of additional needs and effective support strategies.
*Excellent behaviour management skills and the confidence to support pupils who may present with challenging behaviour.
*The ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused in demanding situations.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
*A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting learning and wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
