We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineering Assistant to support a busy Quality Engineering function within a precision manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong quality, engineering, or manufacturing background to develop their career within a highly regulated and standards-driven industry.

You will work closely with an experienced Quality Engineer, supporting quality systems, audit activities, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives across production and customer-facing processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*Support the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System (QMS)
*Assist with internal and external audits (ISO 9001 / AS9100 / automotive standards)
*Maintain accurate quality records, documentation, and compliance data
*Support investigation of non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis
*Contribute to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
*Assist with customer quality queries and preparation of reports
*Support supplier quality communication where required
*Help monitor product quality throughout production processes
*Assist in quality performance reporting and KPI tracking
*Support adherence to health & safety requirements (IOSH-aligned standards)
*Use IT systems to manage documentation and quality data
PERSON SPECIFICATIONEssential*HNC / HND / Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related discipline
*Understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, or automotive quality standards
*Strong communication and customer-facing skills
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
*Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
*IOSH Health & Safety certificate (or willingness to work towards)
*Ability to work independently and within a team
Desirable*Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
*Exposure to internal auditing or quality systems
*Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone)
*Experience using ERP or quality management systems
