Job Description:
Full job descriptionIf you are a Property Loss Adjuster with around five years behind you and Cert CILA already in place, this is the sort of role that should feel like progress rather than another patchwork move. It is home based and covers a regional patch across CCambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Norwich and the surrounding East Anglia market, with a sensible spread of work and genuine local ownership.
Salary sits between £45,000 - £60,000 depending on experience, but the stronger reason to look at this is the timing, as the role exists because the business is growing, winning new accounts and building out regional capability to support that growth properly.
The opportunityThis is not a replacement hire and it is not a vacancy created by churn. The business has real scale in the UK claims market, a strong property adjusting proposition and the infrastructure behind it to support experienced field adjusters properly. It is expanding because instructions are coming in, coverage needs to deepen and new client relationships need the right adjusting presence on the ground.
That matters if you are already established in loss adjusting and selective about where you move. You will not be joining a business that talks a lot about ambition but leaves adjusters carrying the strain. You would be joining one with momentum, market credibility and a clear reason for adding headcount in this territory.
What the role involvesAs Property Loss Adjuster, you will manage a caseload of property claims across the patch from instruction through to conclusion. You will investigate losses, establish cause, review policy response, assess quantum, manage expectations and keep matters moving with the right balance of technical discipline and commercial judgement.
This is a field-based role for somebody who is comfortable being in front of policyholders, brokers and other stakeholders. You will be expected to make decisions, explain them clearly and produce reports that are concise, defensible and commercially useful. There is support around you, but this is still a role for an adjuster who can take ownership of their own territory and manage a diary without constant supervision.
Responsibilities*Handle a portfolio of property claims across Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Norwich and the surrounding region from first instruction to settlement
*Visit sites, investigate cause and extent of damage, and determine policy response
*Prepare clear reports and recommendations for insurer and client stakeholders
*Manage broker, policyholder and supplier relationships throughout the claim lifecycle
*Maintain strong file quality, diary control and service standards
*Deliver a professional claims service that is technically sound and commercially sensible
Who this role could suit*A Property Loss Adjuster with around five years of relevant experience
*Someone who already holds Cert CILA
*An adjuster with solid property claims knowledge and a credible field presence
*Somebody who can combine technical confidence with a calm, practical approach to customers and brokers
*An individual looking for a better long-term platform within a growing business rather than a short-term fix
Why this businessThe attraction here is not just the geography or the salary; it’s the combination of market presence, growth and proper technical backing. This is a sizeable adjusting business that continues to win work and invest in capability, which gives experienced adjusters a more stable and commercially interesting platform than many smaller or flatter operations can offer.
For the right person, that should mean access to better quality work, stronger account exposure and the confidence that the patch has been created for a reason.
Salary and benefits*Salary in the region of £45,000 to £60,000
*Home-based working
*Regional patch across Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Norwich and surrounding areas
*Broader package to be discussed in confidence
The next stepIf you are already working as a Property Loss Adjuster and want to join a business that is expanding because it is winning, not because it is replacing, this is worth a confidential conversation. You do not need to be actively applying to recognise when a role has a better story behind it.
