Harmonic are partnering with a PE-backed biotech business seeking an experienced Interim CFO to lead the finance function through a key period of growth, operational development and investor engagement.


This is a 6-9 month interim assignment, suited to a CFO or #1 in Finance who has previously operated within a biotech / life sciences / healthcare environment.


The business is at an important stage in its development following a very successful clinical trial and requires a commercially minded finance leader who can build a lean team structure, implement controls and reporting processes in a Netsuite environment for the future growth of the finance function and wider business, once the assignment has been completed.


The role
As Interim CFO, you will take ownership of the finance function and act as a key strategic partner to the leadership team and investor group.


You will be responsible for strengthening financial visibility, improving reporting cadence and ensuring the business has the right financial infrastructure in place to support its next phase of growth.


Key responsibilities:
*Leading the finance function as the senior finance representative across the business
*Partnering closely with the CEO, Board and investors on financial strategy, runway, cash management and scenario planning
*Improving management reporting, KPI visibility and board pack preparation
*Overseeing budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
*Managing cash runway, funding requirements and investor reporting
*Strengthening financial controls, processes and governance
*Supporting clinical, operational and commercial teams with financial insight and decision-making
*Reviewing finance systems, data quality and reporting infrastructure
*Providing calm, credible leadership through a period of change and increased scrutiny


About You:
*Previous experience as CFO, VP Finance, Finance Director or #1 in finance
*Previous biotech, life sciences, pharma or healthcare exposure
*Experience working with PE or VC backed business
*Strong cash runway, forecasting and scenario planning experience
*Previous interim, transformation or scale-up experience would be highly beneficial
