Job Description:
Full job descriptionOur client Shropshire council is looking for a Qualified social worker to join their Kinship fostering team.
Key Responsibilities
*Complete Form K assessments to assess connected persons as foster carers.
*Undertake viability assessments to inform early permanence planning.
*Carry out SGO assessments, including support plans and court reports.
*Provide regular supervision and support to approved kinship foster carers.
*Support carers to manage placement challenges, contact arrangements, and transitions to permanence.
*Work closely with children’s social workers and multi-agency partners to ensure coordinated care planning.
*Ensure all work is child-centred, evidence-based, and within statutory timescales.
About You
*Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
*Experience in:
*Kinship/connected persons fostering (Form K)
*SGO assessments and permanence planning
*Viability assessments
*Supporting and supervising foster carers
*Strong analytical and report-writing skills for court and panel.
*Confident in managing risk, safeguarding, and complex family dynamics.
*Committed to achieving stable, safe outcomes for children.
