Are you a passionate Design & Technology Teacher looking for a role where you can make a real difference?
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Design Technology Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and resilient teacher who enjoys practical learning and wants to support young people who may have experienced barriers within mainstream education.
The role will initially begin through agency, with a view to becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
The setting supports pupils with SEMH needs and provides a nurturing, structured environment where relationships, confidence-building and engagement are at the heart of learning.
The RoleYou will be responsible for delivering engaging Design & Technology lessons, helping students develop practical skills, creativity and confidence through hands-on learning.
You will:
*Teach Design & Technology across KS3/KS4 (experience with practical subjects such as Construction, Product Design, Resistant Materials or similar is desirable)
*Plan and deliver accessible, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
*Build positive relationships with pupils and support their emotional and academic development
*Create a safe, inclusive and encouraging workshop environment
*Work collaboratively with support staff and wider pastoral teams
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who:
*Has experience teaching Design & Technology (QTS preferred, but experienced instructors/teachers may be considered)
*Has experience working with SEMH, SEND, PRU or challenging behaviour settings (desirable)
*Is patient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people succeed
*Can engage pupils through practical, creative learning
*Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
