Job Type: Full-time / Term-time (flexible options available)

About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Behaviour Specialist to support pupils within SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools in Skelmersdale. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
Working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external professionals, you will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver targeted behaviour support strategies for students with SEMH needs
*Provide 1:1 and small group interventions
*Support the implementation of behaviour management plans and risk assessments
*Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
*Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
*Monitor, record, and report on pupil behaviour and progress
*Support de-escalation and promote emotional regulation techniques
About YouWe are looking for someone who is:
*Experienced working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs
*Calm, resilient, and patient under pressure
*Confident in behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
*A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
*Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners to achieve their potential
Requirements*Previous experience in SEMH, SEN, or alternative provision settings (preferred)
*Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, youth work, or similar (desirable)
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
*Right to work in the UK
