Full job descriptionOur client is looking for a DB Consulting Actuary to join a leading pensions consultancy with a national presence.

This is a client-facing role within a well-established actuarial consulting team, offering the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of defined benefit pension schemes. The position combines strategic advisory work, client relationship management, and team leadership, with a clear pathway for progression towards senior leadership.

You will act as a key contact for clients, supporting trustees and corporate sponsors on a wide range of pensions issues including funding, risk management, de-risking strategies, longevity, and regulatory developments. The role involves delivering pragmatic, high-quality advice, attending and leading client meetings, and helping clients navigate complex decisions with clarity and confidence.

Alongside core consulting responsibilities, you will support business growth through involvement in new business opportunities, including contributing to tenders and pitches. There is also a strong emphasis on people leadership, including managing and developing junior team members, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring high standards of work across the team.

This opportunity is well suited to a qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent) with significant experience in DB pensions and a strong track record in client-facing roles. Candidates should be comfortable leading client relationships, managing teams, and contributing to business development, while maintaining a broad awareness of the evolving pensions landscape.

The role offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of location, with multiple UK offices available and hybrid working arrangements supported.
