We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking HGV Class 2 Driver/Loader to join a busy Refuse & Recycling team based in Sudbury, Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 2 driver looking for consistent weekday work within an essential public service operation.
This is a hands-on role that combines driving responsibilities with loading duties, helping to ensure collection rounds are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections across designated routes
*Operate HGV vehicles and collection machinery safely and efficiently
*Assist with loading duties to support the crew and complete routes on schedule
*Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
*Complete all relevant paperwork and operational records accurately and in real time
*Carry out daily vehicle and machinery inspections before and after use, reporting any defects promptly
*Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of vehicles and equipment
*Follow safe lifting, manual handling, and health & safety procedures at all times
*Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents, customers, and other road users
*Work professionally and positively as part of a team
What We’re Looking For
*Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
*No more than 6 penalty points
*Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
*Willingness to assist with refuse loading duties throughout the working day
*Good communication and interpersonal skills
*Self-motivated and dependable
*Flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
*Commitment to safe working practices
*Clean driving licence desirable
