Description




*Maintaining and developing standard costing models across materials, labour, and overheads
*Producing accurate product costing and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis
*Delivering detailed monthly variance analysis, including price, usage, labour, and overhead variances
*Investigating variances and working with operational teams to implement corrective actions
*Managing inventory valuation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
*Supporting stock counts, reconciliations, and identifying obsolete or slow-moving stock
*Partnering with production and operations teams to improve efficiency, utilisation, waste reduction, and cost control
*Analysing product and customer profitability, highlighting margin improvement opportunities
*Supporting pricing decisions with accurate costing information
*Maintaining costing data within ERP systems and driving process improvements
*Producing management reports covering cost performance, inventory movements, and manufacturing KPIs
*Supporting internal controls, compliance requirements, and audit processes




Profile
A successful Cost Accountant should have:
*A recognised qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
*Proven experience in cost accounting.
*Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
*Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Excel.
*Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
*Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.
