Location: London, Liverpool Street (Hybrid working – 2/3 days WFH)
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 + discretionary bonus & comprehensive benefits package
Our client is a dual FTSE and US-listed energy group operating across a complex international footprint. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their London finance team.
Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, this role will play a key part in supporting financial reporting, analysis, and stakeholder reporting requirements across the business.
Responsibilities
*Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs
*Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis, investigating key variances and trends
*Review financial information prepared by external advisers and challenge outputs where appropriate
*Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
*Prepare reconciliations, reporting schedules, and financial commentary
*Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities
*Support board, lender, and investor reporting requirements
*Liaise with external auditors and professional advisers throughout reporting cycles
*Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, controls, and efficiencies
*Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to support decision-making
Requirements
*ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified accountant
*Trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 accountancy practice with an external audit background
*1-3 years of industry experience gained following qualification
*US GAAP experience would be beneficial
*Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, or Natural Resources sector experience would be advantageous
*Strong financial reporting, analytical, and review skills
*Experience preparing or reviewing management reporting and financial analysis
*Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
*Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business
*Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
