Full job descriptionSenior Accountant
Coventry
£44,000 – £60,000 (DOE)
I’m currently partnering with a highly regarded, forward-thinking accountancy and advisory firm based in Coventry to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their growing team.
This is not your traditional practice environment. The team operate from modern, well-equipped offices and have built a reputation for delivering high-quality work while genuinely investing in their people. Professional development, collaboration, and creating a supportive working environment are clearly at the core of how they operate.
The Opportunity
Many "Senior Accountant" roles simply mean a heavier workload and more pressure on production.
This role is different.
You will still bring strong technical expertise, but your primary focus will be on review, quality, and development rather than purely production. You’ll take ownership of final output—ensuring work is technically accurate, consistent, and ready for sign-off—while playing a key role in upskilling those around you.
You’ll work across a varied portfolio, including:
*Statutory accounts
*Management accounts
*Corporation tax, personal tax, and partnership returns
*Complex group structures and consolidations
Alongside delivery, you’ll mentor junior team members in a practical, hands-on way—helping them understand not just what to do, but why.
Key Responsibilities
*Review and oversee preparation of statutory and management accounts
*Review personal, corporate, and partnership tax returns
*Prepare and review dividend and interest planning calculations
*Maintain strong, professional client relationships
*Identify opportunities to add value across the client base
*Mentor and support junior team members day-to-day
*Work with the Team Manager to guide team development
*Resolve internal and client queries accurately and efficiently
Who This Role Suits
You’re ACA or ACCA qualified with a strong background in practice, and you’re ready for a shift in focus.
Rather than spending all your time in production, you want to:
*Take ownership of final review and quality control
*Be the trusted "last set of eyes" before work leaves the firm
*Play a meaningful role in developing others
You’re confident communicating with both clients and colleagues, and comfortable giving clear, constructive feedback—even when it’s challenging.
Your review truly matters—when work leaves with your sign-off, it reflects the firm’s standards and reputation. In return, you’re given trust, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a real impact.
If you’re looking for a role where:
*Standards are high
*Work is varied and technically interesting
*The team actively supports and develops each other
—this is well worth exploring.
Benefits
*Competitive salary (£44k–£60k DOE)
*Company car or car allowance (post-qualification period)
*Profit share scheme
*Private medical insurance
*Free high-quality lunches (4 days per week)
*30 days holiday (including bank holidays)
*Flexible working hours
*Reward lunches and team events
*Ongoing professional development opportunities
*Supportive and collaborative team culture
