Full job descriptionWe are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy, professional, and friendly workshop team based in Ilford. This is an excellent long-term opportunity offering consistent hours, competitive pay, and a supportive working environment.
This role would suit a skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities, excellent mechanical knowledge, and a proactive approach to maintenance and repair work.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on HGV vehicles
*Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
*Complete vehicle inspections and identify potential issues
*Use diagnostic equipment and specialist tools effectively
*Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, and brakes
*Order parts and materials as required
*Maintain accurate service and repair records
*Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
*Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised
Requirements
*Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, or PSV Technician
*Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
*Good knowledge of HGV systems and vehicle maintenance
*Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
*City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
*Time served technicians will also be considered
What’s On Offer
*£30.00 per hour (Monday to Friday)
*£40.00 per hour (Saturdays)
*£45.00 per hour (Bank Holidays)
*Weekly pay
