Location: Port Clarence
*Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off
*£26.35 Overtime rate (On non shifted days)
*£40 per night out
*17.5 days holiday, in addition to the public bank holidays
Are you an experienced Class 1 Tanker Driver with ADR qualifications looking for a stable role within a leading chemical manufacturing business?
We are seeking a professional and safety-conscious Class 1 ADR Tanker Driver to our clients transport team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established organisation, delivering specialist chemicals to customers across the UK while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
The Role
As a Class 1 Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous chemicals in bulk tankers throughout the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered on time while adhering to all relevant transport, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Safely transport hazardous chemicals in tanker vehicles to customer sites across the UK.
*Ensure full compliance with ADR regulations and all transport legislation.
*Conduct vehicle and equipment checks before, during, and after journeys.
*Maintain accurate driving, delivery, and compliance records.
*Adhere to Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive regulations at all times.
*Wear and maintain appropriate PPE in accordance with company procedures.
*Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the company professionally.
*Communicate effectively with customers, transport planners, and colleagues.
*Follow all company Health & Safety, ISO, and operational procedures.
*Ensure all work is completed to the highest professional standard.
Essential Requirements
*Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
*ADR qualification with Classes 8 & 9 as a minimum.
*Previous tanker driving experience.
*Valid Driver CPC qualification.
*Digital Tachograph Card.
*Clean or near-clean driving licence.
*Strong understanding of UK road networks and route planning.
*Excellent awareness of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
*A professional, reliable, and safety-focused approach.
Desirable Skills
*Previous experience transporting hazardous chemicals.
*Experience working within the chemical manufacturing or industrial sector.
*Strong customer service and communication skills.
