An established consulting engineering practice is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its structural engineering team in Edinburgh.
Candidates should hold a degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, have a strong interest in building structures, and possess several years of experience within UK consulting engineering.
The Structural Engineer role;*Undertaking structural design for building projects.
*Developing and producing structural drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports.
*Reviewing architectural drawings and developing structural layouts.
*Liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and other members of the design team.
*Attending project meetings, design team meetings, and site inspections.
*Managing smaller projects, or discrete elements of larger projects, from initial enquiry through to completion.
*Assisting with inspections, structural reports, and statutory approval submissions.
*Working alongside graduate engineers and technicians.
*Contributing to technical delivery, quality assurance, and project administration.
About YouApplicants should have:
*A BEng or MEng in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
*Several years of experience in UK consulting engineering.
*A sound understanding of structural design principles and UK construction practices.
*Experience in the design of building structures.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
*The ability to liaise professionally with clients, architects, contractors, and colleagues.
Progress towards chartered status with a recognised professional engineering institution would be advantageous but is not essential.
