The Opportunity

They’re looking for a Datacoms Technician to join a high-performing Engineering team, supporting and delivering advanced networking solutions across VSAT, LTE and global infrastructures.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering customer network solutions, working across the full lifecycle from build through to support:
*Supporting and maintaining complex customer network environments (VSAT, LTE, global networks)
*Investigating and resolving escalated technical issues with a structured, customer-focused approach
*Assisting with the build, configuration, testing and installation of networks both at HQ and remote sites
*Working on a range of solutions including VoIP, firewalling, virtualisation, web filtering and high-availability systems
*Producing and maintaining clear project and technical documentation
*Supporting product evaluation, system integration and new technology adoption
*Travelling at short notice to support installations, surveys and configurations when required
What they’re looking for
Essential
*Strong grounding in TCP/IP networking (routing, switching, firewalls – ideally Layer 7)
*Experience troubleshooting complex network and IT issues end-to-end
*Exposure to satellite communications and/or enterprise IT systems
*Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in IT, Networking, Electronics or similar)
*Strong communication skills and a proactive, "can do" attitude
Desirable
*Cisco or Microsoft certifications
*Linux / Windows server knowledge
*VoIP (Asterisk ideally)
*Scripting (Bash / Perl)
*Experience with system design or project delivery
