About the RoleWe are seeking an ambitious and inspiring SEN Science Lead to drive excellence in Science education and shape an engaging, inclusive curriculum for learners with additional needs.
Working with young people aged 7–19 who may face barriers to learning, you will play a pivotal role in delivering personalised educational pathways that help learners re-engage with education, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
This is a hybrid teaching and leadership role, combining classroom teaching with dedicated leadership time each week. Learning is delivered through a range of approaches including one-to-one sessions, small group teaching, and vocational learning environments.
Key Responsibilities*Lead the development and delivery of a high-quality Science curriculum.

*Promote outstanding teaching and learning across Science provision.

*Support, coach and develop colleagues through mentoring and professional development activities.

*Work closely with senior leaders to monitor quality, identify areas for improvement, and raise standards.

*Track learner progress and help design targeted interventions to maximise achievement.

*Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and learner information procedures are consistently followed.

*Collaborate with curriculum and education leaders to share best practice and drive continuous improvement.

Skills and ExperienceSuccessful candidates will demonstrate:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

*Experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.

*Strong knowledge and experience of planning, developing, and delivering an engaging Science curriculum.

*Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

*A commitment to personalised learning and improving outcomes for young people.

Additional Requirements*Ability to travel between education sites within the local area as required.

*Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

*Business-use vehicle insurance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
