Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Shift Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. As a Shift Engineer, you will provide an effective engineering service to the production team, responding promptly to breakdowns and maintenance needs. You will maintain equipment both proactively and reactively to ensure factory performance meets targets and KPIs.
Shift Pattern: Rotating Shift – 4 on 4 off (2 days / 2 nights)
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Maintain all site assets to a high standard, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
*Execute planned and reactive maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
*Drive plant reliability through hands-on interventions, improvements, and analysis.
*Apply and communicate robust safe systems of work and risk assessments.
*Deliver on Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
*Support the development of standards for equipment and facilities.
*Manage engineering stock control and ensure accurate system records.
*Coach and train production colleagues to enhance equipment knowledge and performance.
*Promote a culture of professional engineering and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications:
*Recognised qualification in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
*BTEC Engineering Certificate or equivalent.
*Broad knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical, PLCs, and Inverter Assets.
*Experience in risk assessment and safe maintenance practices.
*Competence in working with high-hazard equipment and safe isolation procedures.
