Full job descriptionMechanical Maintenance EngineerLocation: Essex (Halstead Area)
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Overtime (OTE £55,000)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
Overtime: Every other Saturday paid at 1.2x, occasional Sundays paid at 1.4x
Holiday: 25 Days + Bank Holidays
Pension: 3% Employee / 5% Employer
The OpportunityA well-established industrial manufacturing business is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong mechanical background who enjoys fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance within a heavy industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities*Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of industrial plant and machinery.
*Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
*Maintain and overhaul equipment including drive shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains and gearboxes.
*Perform repairs and maintenance on hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves and hoses.
*Apply structured fault-finding techniques to identify and resolve equipment issues.
*Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and performance.
*Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Candidate RequirementsEssential*Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
*Experience maintaining industrial machinery and plant equipment.
*Proven fault-finding and repair experience.
*Knowledge of hydraulic systems and associated components.
*Engineering qualification at Level 3 or equivalent (preferred).
Desirable*Understanding of industrial electrical systems.
*Experience working with three-phase motors and variable speed drives.
*Knowledge of industrial control systems.
*Understanding of safe isolation procedures.
*Basic electrical fault-finding capability.
Ideal BackgroundApplications are welcomed from engineers with experience in:
*Heavy industry

*Concrete, aggregates or quarrying environments
*Industrial processing or production facilities
