Location: Godstone, Surrey (own transport required due to remote location)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am–5:00pm, 30-minute lunch) – 100% office-based initially
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience)
Systems: Sage 50 Accounts Professional v32, Syrinx v4, Microsoft Excel, Sage 50 Payroll
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced and growing SME within the equipment hire sector, with a turnover of circa £10m. Following a recent restructure, the business is seeking an ambitious and hands-on Accountant to support the next phase of growth.
This is a permanent position offering genuine scope to develop within a dynamic and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
*Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy across accounts
*Maintain and update the fixed asset register
*Assist with the preparation of management and statutory accounts
*Support payroll processes using Sage 50 Payroll
*Provide ad hoc financial support across the business
*Offer occasional support with incoming calls during busy periods
About You
*Finalist or fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
*Strong reconciliation experience with the ability to work independently
*Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take a hands-on approach
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
*Comfortable operating in a fast-paced SME environment
*Proficient in Sage 50, Syrinx, and Microsoft Excel
