*Location: Wembley Park, London
*Job Type: Contract (6 months), Hybrid
We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to provide hands-on, day-to-day financial support across various council services. This role is crucial for helping budget managers understand their financial positions, navigate pressures, and make informed decisions to ensure smooth service delivery to our residents.
Day-to-day of the role:*Serve as the first point of contact for budget managers, aiding them in financial understanding and decision-making.
*Take ownership of budget setting, medium-term forecasting, in-year monitoring, variance analysis, forecasting, and financial controls.
*Ensure all financial information is accurate, timely, and aligned with council policies.
*Work closely with operational teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and strengthen financial discipline across service areas.
Required Skills & Qualifications:*Experience in a similar Finance Business Partner role within a local authority, ideally focused on social care, housing, or capital projects.
*Alternatively, experience in similar roles within other large-size public sector organisations will be considered.
*Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial forecasting and variance analysis.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
