Hours: 33.75 hours per week, term-time only

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor to support students facing a range of barriers to learning.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people, supporting their academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development. You will play a key role both in the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping students to thrive and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
*Support students in lessons across a range of subjects
*Work 1:1 and with small groups to deliver targeted interventions, particularly in literacy and numeracy
*Act as a mentor for a group of students, supporting their progress and wellbeing
*Help students develop independence and confidence in their learning
*Support teachers in raising attainment and engagement
*Provide pastoral support and promote positive behaviour
*Supervise students during break and lunchtime, offering structured activities where required
*Contribute to student progress monitoring and feedback
What We’re Looking For
*A passion for working with young people
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
*A flexible, proactive, and team-oriented approach
*Understanding of barriers to learning and how to support students effectively
Essential:
*GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
*Experience working with children or young people (formal or informal)
Desirable:
*Relevant Level 3 qualification (or willingness to complete a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship)
*Experience supporting students with additional needs
Professional Development
Candidates who do not already hold a Level 3 qualification will be supported to complete a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship as part of the role.
