Bolton based | Hybrid Working
£16.43 – £21.65 per hour
37 hours per week
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join a busy and well-established local authority HR team on an initial 12-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HR professional to step into a fast-paced, operational environment, supporting managers across a wide range of employee relations matters.
About the Role
You will be part of the operational HR function, working closely with HR Managers to provide a high-quality advisory service across the organisation.
This is a business-as-usual role, focused on delivering core HR support rather than project-based work.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing end-to-end employee relations casework, including:
*Disciplinary
*Grievance
*Sickness absence
*Capability
*Providing clear, practical HR advice to managers in line with employment law and policy
*Supporting managers through formal hearings and presenting at panels
*Advising on organisational change, restructures, and consultations where requiredCAREER GRADE HR OFFICER 2012 JDPS
*Building effective working relationships across departments and with key stakeholders
*Contributing to the ongoing development of HR policies and proceduresCAREER GRADE HR OFFICER 2012 JDPS
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential:
*Proven experience at HR Advisor level
*Strong background in managing complex ER casework from start to finish
*CIPD Level 5 (minimum)
*Ability to work confidently in a policy-driven, fast-paced environment
Desirable:
*Experience within a local authority or public sector setting
Additional Information
*Full-time office attendance is required for the first month, followed by hybrid working
*Clear and structured experience is essential – candidates must be able to demonstrate a consistent and logical career history
*Immediate requirement due to an internal promotion
