We are currently looking to speak with experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapists for opportunities within a specialist school setting in North West London.
These roles would suit Paediatric Occupational Therapists with experience supporting children and young people with PMLD, complex needs, EHCP assessments, specialist equipment, seating systems, moving and handling plans, and school-based therapy.
Opportunities Available
Project Role
This role is suitable for an Occupational Therapist with strong experience completing EHCP assessments and report writing. The role will also involve supporting learners with PMLD, advising on specialist equipment, including class chairs and seating systems, and completing moving and handling plans and risk assessments.
Locum Role
This role is suitable for an Occupational Therapist with broader paediatric experience within education or specialist school settings. The successful candidate will support children and young people with PMLD and a range of additional needs, while contributing to assessments, therapy recommendations, specialist equipment advice, moving and handling plans, and risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities May Include
*Completing Occupational Therapy assessments for children and young people with complex needs.
*Supporting learners with PMLD within a specialist school setting.
*Completing EHCP assessments and clear, professional reports.
*Advising on specialist equipment, including class chairs, seating systems, and postural support.
*Creating and reviewing moving and handling plans.
*Completing risk assessments where required.
*Working closely with teaching staff, therapy teams, families, carers, and other professionals.
*Providing practical recommendations to support access to learning, independence, safety, and daily school routines.
We Are Looking For Experience In
*Paediatric Occupational Therapy.
*PMLD and complex needs.
*EHCP assessments and report writing.
*Specialist equipment and seating systems.
*Moving and handling plans.
*Risk assessments.
*SEN, education, or specialist school settings.
*Supporting children and young people with additional needs.
Requirements
*Qualified Occupational Therapist.
*HCPC registration.
*Previous paediatric experience.
*Experience within a school, SEN, or specialist education setting would be highly desirable.
*Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
