We are currently recruiting for a full time permanent care home chef to work in the Hertfordshire area. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a care home, and able to produce hotel/restaurant standard meals to the residents. The meals you create should be full of flavour, well balanced and nutritious. You will be required to liaise with the residents to involve them in the meals you create.
Responsibilities include
• Work within a budget
• Manage and order stock in the kitchen.
• Manage and motivate staff to deliver high standards of preparation and cookery
• Able to deliver modified diet requirements for residents.
• Ensure all food is cooked to a safe temperature.
• Ensure that the storage of food meets company and statutory requirements
• Ensure kitchen food hygiene and health & safety standards are adhered to at all times.
• Train and develop kitchen staff.
About you
You will require a calm head and be able to work under pressure with good leadership and organisational skills. Enjoy working in a busy kitchen environment and able to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
You should have completed food hygiene, infection control training and have a fundamental understanding of H.A.C.C.P.
