*Job Type: Temporary (up to 10 weeks)
We are seeking a Stores Assistant to join our team in a busy warehouse environment for a period of up to 10 weeks. This role involves a variety of tasks including stock picking, loading and unloading stock, and liaising with suppliers. The successful candidate will be provided with safety wear and undergo a full induction.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Work in a warehouse environment handling tasks such as picking, unloading deliveries (including heavy bulky items), ordering, storing, stock checking, and distributing materials, plant, and equipment.
*Liaise with Operations Staff to plan effectively for the provision of materials, plant, and equipment.
*Resolve queries and enquiries, chase up outstanding orders and purchases including liaising with operational staff, procurement staff, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
*Participate in inspections, audits, and reviews, assisting in the implementation of the outcomes.
*Maintain a computerised stock control system and assist in the development and introduction of new systems.
*Ensure good housekeeping, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*4 GCSE’s (Grade A-C) or equivalent qualification essential.
*Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends to meet the needs of the service.
*Experience in a similar role within a warehouse or stores environment preferred.
*Ability to operate a forklift truck and maintain a forklift licence (courses and refresher courses will be provided as necessary).
*Strong organisational and communication skills.
