Overview
We are working with a well established bespoke joinery business in Leeds who are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their growing joinery division. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly skilled workshop team delivering high-quality, turnkey solutions across the retail and leisure sectors.
The business works closely with main contractors to deliver bespoke interior fit-out solutions for end-user clients, taking projects from initial concept through to manufacture and installation. Their reputation is built on delivering exceptional service, ensuring client ideas and visions are realised on time and within budget.
About the Company
The company operates a full in-house capability covering:
*Design and manufacturing detailing

Their workshop includes experienced machinists, bench joiners, and store managers, all working together to produce high-quality, bespoke pieces. Projects are typically turnkey in nature, combining craftsmanship with technical precision.
The Role
As Estimator, you will play a key role in the commercial and pre-construction phase of projects, working across a steady flow of enquiries (approximately 10-15 per week). With strong repeat business, you’ll be responsible for pricing and assessing bespoke joinery packages, typically around the £100k project value mark.
You will need a strong understanding of joinery manufacturing processes, particularly bench joinery and machining methods, to ensure accurate, practical, and commercially sound estimates.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare detailed cost estimates for bespoke joinery projects
*Review drawings, specifications, and client briefs to develop accurate quotations
*Work closely with design, production, and workshop teams to understand buildability and manufacturing methods
*Assess materials, labour, subcontract elements, and production requirements
*Liaise with main contractors and repeat clients to clarify scope and requirements
*Manage multiple enquiries simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and turnaround times
*Contribute to value engineering and cost optimisation where appropriate
*Support smooth handover from estimating to production teams
Requirements
*Proven experience as an Estimator within joinery, fit-out, or a related manufacturing environment
*Strong technical understanding of bench joinery and machining processes
*Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
*Experience working with bespoke or custom-built products
*Commercial awareness with strong attention to detail
*Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively with workshop and client teams
*Experience in retail and/or leisure fit-out sectors desirable
What’s on Offer
*Salary between £40,000 - £50,000
*Opportunity to work on high-quality bespoke projects with established repeat clients
*Strong workshop support from skilled craftsmen and technical teams
*Stable workload with consistent enquiries and varied project scope
*Involvement in full turnkey projects from concept to completion
