Job Description:
Full job descriptionProject Officer To work as part of a team to inspect all void garages in the borough. Making note of any access, repair or other issues preventing the garage being re-let.
Project Officer To visit sites to gather information to support complaints investigations and ASB claims.
Project Officer To take photos and make records of all garages viewed to help improve the data accuracy in Lewishams computer systems.
Project Officer To make on site improvements such as installing temporary signage.
Project Officer To help manage and organise the garage key stock, ensuring each void garage has a clearly key and requesting lock changes where required.
To update the council computer system with accurate information on each void garage and its current status, uploading supporting evidemce such as photos and maps.
To help develop an improved garage advertising and allocation process to maximise lettings and reduce void turnaround times.
To arrange for the disposal of items from garages and attend garage sites when items are to be collected by tenants.
Internal Contacts: Other members of staff from across the council External Contacts: External agencies, residents and contractors.
To carry out the duties of the post with due regard to the Councils relevant codes and procedures.
All employees are required to participate in the Councils appraisal system and to undertake appropriate training and development identified to enhance their work.
Good understanding of the challenges in providing garage rental services in a customer focused environment.
Intermediate level in using Word, Excel & Outlook.
Skills and Experience
Able to use own vehicle to drive around the borough to carry out inspections of garages.
Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
Ability to plan and organise own work effectively to achieve required performance and service quality targets.
Expresses opinions, information and arguments clearly verbally and in writing.
Work productively in a high-pressure environment.
Excellent attention to detail
Experience of using databases to update and extract information
Able to interpret maps and access digital tools to help identify locations for garage inspections
Able to take clear digital photographs and manage the uploading of these to computer systems
