Days Based Role – Monday to Friday – 8am to 4pm
The Company
My client is the worlds’ largest processor/manufacturer within its field of metal processing and associated aluminium based products, last year processing over 40 billion units. The company is a well established producer to the global markets, having plants in the UK, Europe, Asia and America. The UK site is looking once again to expand due to further investment, within this globally secure organisation.
Key Skills
*Apprentice Trained Mechanical Engineering
*Experience in Heavy Manufacturing
*Understanding of Pneumatics, Hydraulics & PPM Systems
The Role
Working in the days team, the Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining the upkeep and reliability of machinery and associated certain assets on site. These can range from Aluminium Smelting Machinery, furnaces, shredding / crushers.
*Attending to breakdowns throughout the day, and ensuring the plant is down for the least time possible
*Ensure all PMs allocated are done and followed up with any feedback to the engineering planner
*Responsible for ensuring the correct escalation process is followed in the event of an out of hours problem occurring
*Following up problems and developing solutions in cooperation with the Lead Engineer
*Make sure that all safety regulations are met whilst work is undertaken, and you ensure equipment is made safe for use
